Benidorm puts into service a new fast charging point for electric vehicles in Severo Ochoa
Benidorm City Council has added a new municipal charging point for electric vehicles. This point, located on Severo Ochoa Avenue next to the Masymas supermarket, is already in service and is fast-charging by providing more than 50 kilowatts, which means that in just 30 minutes the vehicle can charge to cover a distance of 130 kilometers.
With this new point, the city already has a dozen semi-fast charging points – of 22 kilowatts and with the capacity for between 45 minutes and an hour of charging to cover a distance of 100 kilometers – and another four for fast charging.
The mayor of Urban Scene and Mobility, Francis Muñoz, stressed that "the implementation of this type of points favors electric mobility in the municipality", which "is thus configured as a reference destination within the network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles on the main highways and corridors of Spain”.
Muñoz explained that "for the installation of this new charging point, the Benidorm City Council obtained a grant of 27,554.80 euros from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), which has been complemented with a municipal contribution of 12,688.87 euros ”.
Like the vast majority of municipal stations, the one on Avenida Doctor Severo Ochoa is a fast charging point "that expands the municipal infrastructure with elements that allow reducing charging times and advancing in sustainability, one of the five axes on which that pivots the Master Plan of the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI)”.
The rest of the charging points for electric vehicles in the municipal network are located in l'Aigüera -next to the Town Hall-, Jaime I, Alfonso Puchades, Mediterráneo, Juan Fuster Zaragoza, Villajoyosa and the Argentine Republic; and in Benissa and Tomás Ortuño streets.
