82 Primary students attend the Summer Educational Support Program
Classes are taking place at CEIP Leonor Canalejas until August 25
82 Benidorm Primary students are attending the Summer Educational Support Program (PAEV) that, year after year, is organized by the Department of Education and that on this occasion is being carried out at the CEIP Leonor Canalejas. The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, have visited the educational center to inquire about how this program is being developed, with which reinforcement classes are offered to students who have not obtained academic results during the course. expected.
The mayor recalled that "with the PAEV we want these students to be able to start the next academic year in the best conditions, having worked during the summer on the subjects or aspects in which they may have presented the greatest difficulties during the previous academic period."
As in previous editions, the program has had four classrooms and two shifts depending on the age groups. Thus, in the first shift, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the students of 2nd, 4th, and 6th grade of Primary participate; while from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. it is the turn of the 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students.
In these two hours of class a day from Monday to Friday, the students of each course reinforce curricular subjects -such as Mathematics, Spanish Language, Valencian, and English-, and work on study techniques, attention games, and verbal and mathematical reasoning.
Toni Pérez explained that "to facilitate the attendance of the maximum number of schoolchildren, the Department of Education has awarded 19 scholarships, individualized aid reserved for those registered in Benidorm with which 100% of the cost of the program has been covered for beneficiaries”. In addition to these scholarships, minors from large families, single parents, with functional diversity, those in foster care, or with parents or guardians with Carné Jove, retirees, or pensioners have had a reduced price; while assistance has been free for special large or single-parent families or with functional diversity greater than 33%.
PAEV ends on August 25.
