This is a project promoted by the center to promote reading among schoolchildren in Benidorm

More than a thousand students, families, and teachers enjoy the 'Fantastic Classroom' at Puig Campana Primary School

09 April 2025
Más de un millar de alumnos, familias y docentes disfrutan del ‘Aula Fantástica’ del CEIP Puig Campana

More than a thousand preschool, primary, and secondary school students from various schools in Benidorm, along with families and teachers, enjoyed the fifth edition of the Puig Campana public school's 'Fantastic Classroom'. This project, which promotes reading among students, was themed on space and entitled 'Journey to the Stars'. Benidorm City Council's Councilor for Education, Maite Moreno, publicly congratulated the school for this "fantastic initiative, never better said" and thanked "the students and the entire teaching team at Puig Campana School for their involvement in this activity, which entails tremendous work."

The 'Fantastic Classroom' project is an immersive experience where spectators can enjoy a theatre session starring teachers from this school, in a fully themed classroom with a story written by the teachers themselves, based on three books aimed at students of different ages, which the attending audience members have previously worked with. The initiative stems from a reading promotion project that a children's and young adult literature publisher carried out at this school in the 1990s, and which CEIP Puig Campana decided to revive just over six years ago.

Throughout its editions, as it is held every two years, the "Fantastic Classroom" has been dedicated to the world of pirates, ancient Egypt, and, on this occasion, space. It has been held over seven days and with 22 sessions. In addition to Puig Campana students, students from other public schools, such as the Les Fontanelles municipal nursery school; the Els Tolls, Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Mestre Gaspar López, Gabriel Miró, Leonor Canalejas, and La Cala schools, have also attended; and from the Beatriu Fajardo Secondary School in Mendoza; the El Secanet special education school in La Vila Joiosa; as well as families, teachers, and representatives from the municipality and the Regional Ministry of Education.

Councilor Maite Moreno congratulated the entire Puig Campana educational community and hoped that the "Aula Fantástica" "will have many more editions to be enjoyed by many more children in our city."
