The exhibition brings together 25 artisans and painters, with workshops open to the public and a wide range of creative activities at Castelar and Senyoria squares
Les Nits del Castell transforms the old town into a showcase of crafts and art
Benidorm’s Old Town has been hosting a new edition of Les Nits del Castell since last night, an initiative that brings together shopping, culture and creativity in the heart of the city. The event will run until 30 September and will take place daily from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Benidorm Mayor Toni Pérez and Councillor for Commerce Javier Jordá toured the stalls on the opening night, accompanied by other members of the municipal council, visiting Plaza de Castelar and Plaza de la Senyoría, where Les Nits del Castell is held. The event features a total of 25 stalls dedicated to arts and crafts and painting, reaffirming its status as one of the Old Town’s leading summer attractions.
Among the participants are 13 officially accredited professional artisans specialising in silver jewellery, gemstones, fashion jewellery, cold porcelain, handmade soaps, minerals, dolls and other handcrafted products. They are joined by 11 painters—including portrait and caricature artists—and a silhouette artist, all offering their work and services in Plaza Castelar.
A new feature of this year’s edition is the introduction of a weekly programme of craft workshops, held from Monday to Thursday in Plaza de la Senyoría. Each workshop is led by one of the exhibitors, allowing residents and visitors to discover techniques such as ceramics, jewellery making, weaving, natural cosmetics, polymer clay and shell and mother-of-pearl crafts.
The event also maintains its social focus through the participation of the Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and the Region (ASMIBE), which has its own stand where visitors can purchase hand-painted fans, handcrafted bookbindings and other items made by the association’s members.
Mayor Toni Pérez highlighted that Les Nits del Castell “provides an opportunity to strengthen economic activity in the Old Town during the peak tourist season,” while also helping to “bring the work of local artists and artisans closer to the thousands of visitors who come to Benidorm during the summer.”
