The City Council incorporates geolocation to facilitate access to the more than 7,000 spaces in its park and ride parks
How to park for free in Benidorm from your computer or mobile?
The Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, today announced the commissioning of this "new tool" which will be "of great help in publicizing the more than 7,000 free parking spaces" spread throughout the city.
"From the home page - explained the councilor - of the municipal website [www.benidorm.org], from a computer or mobile phone, you can access the list of parking lots." Once there, the user is offered a map of the city indicating the location of the parking lots and "a downloadable file for each of them" and their indications that "compliment" with a link to Google Maps, compatible with the navigation systems “that we all carry in our vehicles or mobile phones”. From it "we will be able to access the parking lot without problems."
To publicize this utility, the Department has launched a campaign through information screens throughout the city that is complemented by actions on social networks and the placement of posters in public buildings.
González de Zárate has influenced Benidorm's commitment to "a large free parking network that facilitates access to the city and is friendly to the driver" and at the same time "give priority to pedestrians". For this reason "the nearly 40 car parks" distributed from La Cala to Rincón have been conditioned, acting and tidying up open spaces on public or private land "thanks to agreements with their owners" to convert them into "safe places to park our vehicles".
Free to the center by bus
The City Council's commitment to "sustainable mobility" is complemented by the free bus service provided from the park-and-ride parks located in Francisco Llorca Antón (Bus Station) and Avenida de Cuba (Vía Parque). "By parking the vehicle - González de Zárate added - the user can obtain a free round-trip ticket that allows them to move to the Center or Rincón de Loix on the line buses that have an average passage time of fifteen minutes ”.
