141 athletes from 9 Valencian clubs will compete in the open waters of the Bay
Benidorm, seat of the regional sea rowing championship
The waters of the Bay of Benidorm will host this coming Sunday, June 19 and starting at 8:30 a.m., the Autonomous Sea Rowing Championship, organized by the Benidorm Yacht Club with the collaboration of the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community and the Department of Sports, as announced today by the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros and the president of the entity, Jaume Samper.
141 sailors and 85 teams, belonging to nine clubs from Alicante, El Campello, Altea, Vila Joiosa, Santa Pola, Calpe, Gandia, Torrevieja, València and Benidorm, will travel 3,000 meters in the Cadet, Veteran, SCM and Mix PR3 categories. Abs and they will row 4,000 in Juvenile and Absolute.
Sea rowing is a sport that takes place in open water, with boats between six and 10.70 meters in length. The boats can be individual (Skiff), double, or with four oars with a helmsman. The jury of the competition will be made up of referees and the Committee of Judges of the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community.
