Benidorm reinforces the cleaning and garbage collection service during the Festes Majors Patronals with 30 ‘extra’ operators
Benidorm City Council, in coordination with the dealership, Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC), has designed a special cleaning and garbage collection service for the Festes Majors Patronals, which includes the hiring of 30 ‘extra’ operators. The Councilor for Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that "in addition to the staff reinforcement for approximately 10 days, there will also be an increase in material resources, with the addition of seven additional vehicles."
De Zárate has indicated that this special service will continue until after the Fancy Dress, which is held on Thursday, November 14 and that brings together tens of thousands of Britons every year. A time of the year, he stressed, in which "Benidorm is full".
The councillor said that this special device will be operational "in the three shifts: morning, afternoon and night", so "24 hours a day will be reviewing the cleaning and collection in the streets with the largest influx of people, where they concentrate the clubs' premises and where the routes of the different acts run ”.
In this way, there will be washdowns at various times of the day, providing two 15.00-liter tankers and four operators, as well as three vans equipped with auxiliary pressure washer equipment of up to 1,000 liters. In addition, "throughout the day there will be a small collection truck that will act at the points where the production of waste is continuous and the collection cannot be postponed until night service."
De Zárate has taken the opportunity to “appeal, especially to member of the clubs so that during the holidays they use the containers they will have near their premises to facilitate collection and prevent garbage bags in the streets that affect the image of Benidorm and / or hinder the celebration of the events ”.
