The second day in the London WTM has begun with a working session of the Alliance of Sun and Beach Tourist Municipalities to analyze the situation in view of the contacts developed in the day yesterday and the positions observed in the evolution of Brexit and The tourist perspectives.
Then, Mayor Toni Pérez has maintained a contact with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, Zurab Pololikashvili, where, as explained by the mayor of Benidorm, "we have tested the operation and expectations of the next season" .
In this sense, Toni Pérez has stressed that "we have traveled well through scenarios of uncertainty since 2017 and at the moment, without being cleared, we are facing a reasonably positive situation."
In the following event, Sustainable Tourism has been the protagonist. In the work session, organized by Turespaña, the Secretary of State for Tourism Isabel Oliver has set an example to Benidorm, and the High Commissioner for Sustainable Development Goals, Cristina Gallard, highlighted Benidorm's work in sustainability, and the alignment with them, according to WTM sources.
Toni Pérez has shown his satisfaction then because “Benidorm is an example in many forums of this London fair” where it is confirmed that “Benidorm is the tourism locomotive of the Costa Blanca and the Valencian Community, and a great supporter of the Spain brand "
He stressed that "the advantage of Benidorm today is to have positioned itself soon working on sustainability and accessibility, as a reference in the governance axes indicated by the UNWTO, as we have done in innovation and technology".
In the meeting agenda, the mayor has highlighted the one that will take place with C-TRIP, the first Chinese tourism group, the undisputed leader in the sale of online travel in China, with nearly 300 million registered users and who arrives in Spain as a giant Asian reservation center, with an ambitious project promoted by AsialinkSpain. The C-TRIP platform represents a privileged positioning opportunity. In the C-TRIP portal the Spanish tourism offer is focused on a middle-upper class target that represents a market size with about 100 million potential users in China.
