One more year Benidorm's beaches have revalidated three of the awards that certify their quality and excellence. These are the 'Q' flags for Tourist Quality, 'S', for Sustainability, and 'Safe Tourism Certified' that have been collected today by the Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, from the hands of Miguel Mirones, president of the Institute for Quality Turística Española (ICTE) in an act that took place in Madrid.

In the coming days, the emblems will be displayed on the city's beaches. The mayor recalled that "we have always defended that our urban beaches are in the top 5 worldwide and certifications such as these endorse this statement year after year and value the work and effort that Benidorm carries out so that its sandbanks are in perfect condition. conditions throughout the year, offering the best services and always looking for an excellent user experience”.

The three beaches have passed with flying colors the "exhaustive" audits that the ICTE carries out throughout the year in which the quality and cleanliness of the water and sand, hygienic conditions, and physical and sanitary security protocols, are evaluated. the facilities, the security, and first aid services, the leisure offer, and the information offered to the users.

These distinctions are added, said Gómez "to the rest of the quality certifications that the beaches of Benidorm have and that guarantee our clear commitment to constant improvement and our determined vocation for sustainable management, extendable to all areas of the city and the destination".

Specifically, since 2003 the beaches of Benidorm have ISO 9001 and 14001, and since 2010 they also comply with the EMAS Regulation. Likewise, the accessible beach points of Levante and Parque de Elche have the Universal Accessibility award by the UNE-170000-1 and 170000-2 standards. In addition, the beaches of Levante, Poniente, and Mal Pas have the 'Safe Tourism Certified' seal, which confirms the implementation of health risk prevention systems against Covid-19 and is also granted by the ICTE.

"Our beaches are our main tourist attraction and, therefore, their management has always been a priority, a management that we carry out with the highest self-demand" the councilor concluded.
