Public lighting renovation
Benidorm City Council made it a priority to undertake the renovation of the city's exterior lighting, to achieve not only economic savings but also a substantial improvement in energy efficiency, derived from the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from road lighting.
Benidorm has taken another step to become a Smart City through the renewal of its public lighting. The project, in its first phase, has been developed in the Central Zone, under the criteria of energy savings and efficiency.
What are the stages of the project?
Stage 1
Replacement of current luminaires with higher performance luminaires equipped with LED technology.
Stage 2
Expansion of the electrical and electronic equipment of the command centres to allow the monitoring of panels and lightpoints. The replacement of older panels has also been promoted so that they are compatible with the new technology implemented.
Stage 3
Implementation of the centralized remote management system to monitor the status of the installed equipment and the regulation of the intensity of the light points individually or by groups.
Remote management system
This system allows the monitoring and control of the new public lighting to be able to regulate individually the luminous flux and the on and off times of each light point, and even have information on individual consumption, detecting possible consumption deviations or breakdowns.
