Youth department organizes a course about rescue missions in collapsed structures
Pellicer detailed that this theoretical and practical course lasts 30 hours, priced at 40 euros, and taught by "a fully qualified teacher" and "with extensive experience in training and emergencies." Thus, besides Santiago Ivars and Juan Carlos Torres in the course will also participate volunteers of the NGO Benidorm USAR-13, with its canine units which have performed rescues in earthquakes in different parts of the world.
The course is from Monday to Friday, from January 18 to February 5 and from 20.00 to 22.00.
The course content will be to identify risks in a collapsed structure; first intervention techniques; use of various human equipment, electronic and cynological tracking method call-listening and dog teams; establish security measures; and techniques for handling and rescue of victims.
The head of the Youth department, José Romeu, explained that "this is the first time" this course is organized.
Romeu highlighted the great success with this type of courses among people interested in emergencies or who are active in this field.
Pellicer invited all those interested. The registration period will be open until this Friday, January 15th.
