City Council and education centers will organize educational guidance days

Youth and Education organize the first microvideos contest

05 February 2019
Juventud y Educación convocan el primer concurso de microvídeos

The councils of Youth and Education have organized, in collaboration with highschools of Benidorm, the first edition of the Microvideos Contest, with the aim of publicizing the educational offer among the students and helping them throughout their formative journey.

The person in charge of the area of Youth, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that students can participate individually, or collectively whenever they are "enrolled in the same educative center". The councillor has specified that the films must have "a maximum duration of one minute and have to summarize and publicize the educational offer of their school."

Each institute will be responsible for organizing the selection process for the work that will represent it in the final. "The winning team of each center - Pellicer clarified - will receive a voucher of 200 euros redeemable in collaborating shops" of Benidorm. Among the selected, the Youth Council will reward the best with a check of 300 euros.

With this initiative, the City Council aims to facilitate the access of students to the different branches of training. In fact, the intention, the councilor has said, is to replace the traditional annual educational fair with educational days. A project in which "we are still working and which will be announced soon by the mayor", Toni Pérez, who holds the competences in Education.

The deadline to submit the works to the microvideos contest is February 28. Those interested can expand this information in the Youth Information Center (CIJ) located in the basement of the City Council.
