Minute of silence in Benidorm to condemn the latest case of sexist violence
The gates of Benidorm City Hall have returned to be the scene this afternoon of the minute of silence that has kept the municipal corporation, led by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Paquita Ripoll, in memory of the seventh victim of violence of gender registered this year in our country. Representatives from different political groups and public workers participated in the rally.
On this occasion, silence has been observed in memory of a 60-year-old woman murdered in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The body of the woman was found last Sunday in the interior of the house with evident signs of violence. The victim shared a home with the aggressor, 58, who was his nephew in addition to being her sentimental partner. The National Police arrested him as the alleged perpetrator.
From the Department of Equality reminds women who may be facing a case of abuse, they can go to municipal services and also resort to the toll-free number 016 against gender violence. The call is not reflected in the telephone bill, but it is advisable to delete it from the list of calls from mobile phones.
