The XVII Drawing and Painting Contest of 'La Barqueta' has already winners

The 17th edition of the Drawing and Painting Competition of the Cultural and Recreational Association 'La Barqueta', has already winners. The girls Rihanna Muts, from Costa Blanca International School; Claudia Fuentes, of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores; and Marta Mayor, from Ausiàs March public school; They received the first prize in the first, second and third cycle of Primary respectively in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall. Some works that, like the rest of the participants, have as their central axis the arrival and finding of the Mare de Déu del Sofratge.
In the delivery of prizes they have participated, among others, the mayor, Toni Pérez; the councilor of Culture, Ana Pellicer; Senator Agustín Almodóbar; members of the municipal corporation; the president of the ACR 'La Barqueta', Francisco Llorens; the queens of the Festes Majors Patronals, Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor; and the presidents of the Comissió de Festes and the Associació de Penyes, Roberto Carretero and Coly Pérez.
Both the mayor and the president of 'La Barqueta' stressed that the 2019 edition has achieved a "record of participation", with nearly 2,100 drawings submitted to the contest. Toni Pérez has indicated that these participation rates show that "the educational centers of Benidorm are involved in this event", which is "anteroom" to the celebration of March 16, the day of the patron's discovery, the Mare de Déu del Sofratge .
For his part, the president of 'La Barqueta' stressed that this event "is the largest participation of the Valencian Community" and thanked the schools of Benidorm for their "involvement".
In addition to the first prizes of the three categories, a second and third prize have been awarded in each of them, as well as four second prizes.
There has also been a special recognition for the child Marcos Herrero, of Costa Blanca International School, whose drawing will be reflected in the poster announcing the 2020 contest. Likewise, the schools that have contributed the most to the contest have been recognized, an award which has fallen to Ausias March public school, followed by Lledó Bautista and Lope de Vega International School.
