The mayor of Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, has opened this morning at Palm Beach Hotel the thirteenth Congress of Senior Citizens Associations 'Ciudad de Benidorm' that each year organizes the Senior Group of Telefónica. On this occasion with the slogan 'The contribution of the elderly to the national economy'. Along with Llorca, Luis Álvarez and Antonio Limonge, presidents of senior citizens of national Telefónica and Valencia, respectively, have also participated.

Llorca has shown her satisfaction that the city is the permanent headquarters of this national meeting and has shown the attendees her "most sincere recognition" for calling the conference "Ciudad de Benidorm". "I want to think," said Llorca, "that you are treated very well in this city and that you fully achieve your goals" and stressed that "that is our intention, that here you sit as in your own home and be very happy."

The head of the Social Welfare area also thanked the congressmen for taking "the name of Benidorm throughout Spain" and encouraged them, on behalf of all the elderly in the country, to encourage their "participation in social life". Around 350 people from all over Spain participate in the congress. During these days, the congressmen will carry out training and debate activities, combined with a recreational program that will allow them to enjoy Benidorm's tourist offer.
