Two paving teams finalize the details while two others work on the North sidewalk, which will be operational during Easter
This week the south sidewalk of Mediterráneo Avenue will be open to pedestrian traffic
In the early hours of the morning, the Mayor Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Public Space and Works, González de Zárate, have visited the works of Phase I of Avenida del Mediterráneo, together with the municipal technicians and the construction company, confirming, at the end of the visit, that a good part of the South sidewalk is already pedestrian walkable, while the final auctions are made in the section closest to Plaza de la Hispanidad and the actions are completed at the confluences of Pérez Llorca and Esperanto streets.
Two of the four paving teams are finalizing the details and the mayor confirmed that “between Thursday and Friday it will be already opened full” the South sidewalk of Avenida del Mediterráneo with all the infrastructure, pavement and designs contemplated in the project and improvements defined throughout the performance. By then, Zárate said, it will have " furniture: chairs, litter bins and woodland”. At the moment, it will have a provisional lighting since, for reasons of work schedule, the definitive luminaires will be installed later.
The other two paving teams will continue working on the North sidewalk, where they continue the actions with heavy machinery and that for the immediate Holy Week the first of the blocks of that route will be complete, from Plaza de la Hispanidad to Avenue of Dr. Orts Llorca .
At the same time the final works continue in Plaza de la Hispanidad where the posts for the lighting system are being installed, adapting the protection to the young trees that have been planted and ending the electrical connections and water pipes for the fountain, which in short it will also be operational and complete the entire southern flank of this emblematic work.
