Benidorm commemorates International Women's Day with two weeks of activities
The Department of Equality of Benidorm City Council, on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day, has organized a complete calendar of activities that will begin on Thursday, March 5, and end on Wednesday 18. This has been announced today by the responsible of the area, Ángela Zaragozí, at a press conference, before the media.
A program "quite extensive", she said, "is not limited only to the week before the celebration of the Women's Day" but throughout the month of March activities have been scheduled that include activities such as "cinema, literature or music," among others.
The central act of the commemoration of Women's Day will take place on Friday, March 6 with the celebration of the 20th Meeting of Women of the Marina Baixa that this year “has as its motto - Zaragozí has pointed out - 'Music for Equality' in the that "more than sixty women musicians" from the three bands of Benidorm and the Municipal Professional Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' will participate under the direction of Irene García Esteban. The event will be attended by those responsible for equality of the Town Councils in the Marina Baixa.
The program of activities of the Department of Equality does not provide the celebration of activities on March 8, International Women's Day so that “those who wish to participate in the concentrations that are held throughout the province,” said Zaragozí .
