'Tirant lo Blanc, protagonist of the Day of the Lletres Valencianes in Benidorm
'Tirant lo Blanc', the work written by Joanot Martorell and considered a reference of the Cavalry genre, has been the star of the Day of the Lletres Valencianes, whose commemoration has been added this year Benidorm.
Members of the corporation headed by the Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, and residents of the city have participated this afternoon in the public reading of the work, published for the first time in Valencia in 1490. Among the volunteers who have read a passage of the work, were the professors Francisco Amillo and Pasqual Almiñana, both owners of the cultural distinction 'Ciutat de Benidorm'.
Pellicer recalled that "in the Day of Les Lletres Valencianes is commemorated precisely the publication of the first edition of 'Tirant lo Blanc'; an anniversary that we wanted to celebrate in one of our most emblematic enclaves, Hort de Colón ". In addition, she added, "we wanted to bring the commemoration to the whole world by broadcasting the public reading via 'streaming' through Onda Benidorm website."
