Thousands of fans in Benidorm are experiencing the World Cup final on the giant screens of SkyFest and in Julio Iglesias auditorium
Both venues recorded an excellent public response in a day that passed without any notable incidents
Benidorm experienced a football festival this Sunday on the occasion of the World Cup final, which brought together thousands of fans in the two spaces set up to follow the match on a giant screen: the SkyFest venue and Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l’Aigüera.
Hours before kickoff, both venues saw a large influx of people, creating a festive atmosphere where locals, visitors, and fans shared a historic moment for the sport, culminating in Ferran Torres' goal that secured Spain's second star.
The day unfolded smoothly and without any significant incidents, confirming the success of the operation organized in collaboration with the Departments of Events, Public Safety, Sports, and Festivals.
At SkyFest, the organisers offered a range of entertainment, combining musical performances, activities, giveaways, and various pre-match events, in addition to the live broadcast of the game on the four giant screens set up at the venue.
Quique Jiménez 'Torito' was in charge of energising the crowd at SkyFest, while the main stage featured performances by, among others, Atyat, Ku Minerva, Dani J, and Rosalinda, all of whom were also performing at Benidorm Fest.
Julio Iglesias Auditorium, second major meeting point
The second venue set up to watch the World Cup final was the Julio Iglesias Auditorium, where the 'Verge del Sofratge' Supporters' Association, presided over by Diego Carrasco, created a festive atmosphere with music, entertainment, food and drinks at affordable prices, and a live broadcast of the match on a giant screen, drawing thousands of people.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councillors for Events, Festivals, and Sports, Jesús Carrobles, Mariló Cebreros, and Javier Jordá, visited both venues to greet attendees and get a firsthand look at how the day's events were unfolding. Afterwards, except for Carrobles, they watched the final from the Julio Iglesias Auditorium alongside thousands of fans.
