Minute of silence in Benidorm in memory of the woman murdered in Tarragona
There are already 30 women murdered in 2021
Benidorm City Council has called this afternoon a minute of silence in memory of the woman allegedly murdered by her husband on July 30 in Tarragona. With the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, at the helm, the municipal corporation has thus shown its strongest rejection of this social scourge.
This is the thirtieth case of sexist violence in 2021. On this occasion, the woman was 25 years old and although the crime took place last Friday, July 30, until yesterday it was not confirmed by the Government Delegation Against Violence of Gender. The number of women murdered by their partners or ex-partners in Spain since the statistics began in 2003 now stands at 1,108.
The Department of Equality reminds women who are in a possible situation of risk, that the Benidorm City Council has technical and specialized personnel at their disposal. Likewise, remember the existence of the telephone number 016 that attends 24 hours a day, 265 days a year in 52 languages to all people who need it.
