Sports completes the sports court and adds a new basketball court at Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor

The Department of Sports of Benidorm City Council has completed the reconstruction of the outdoor sports court of Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor and has added a new basketball court in a surplus space attached to it. Both actions have already concluded, as explained by the councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, who made a visit to the facility.

This intervention was valued at 90,490.23 euros and had a subsidy from Alicante Provincial Council of 69,719.09 euros, framed in 'Plan + Sport' for which the municipal contribution was 20,771.14 euros.

The reconstruction of the track was due to the state of deterioration of the facility, which is more than 20 years old. "The track was very deteriorated and almost in disuse, for this reason, we recovered its use and at the same time, we improved the accesses and connections of the Sports City itself" Cebreros indicated.

The comprehensive renovation has involved changing the surface of the track and rotating its orientation 90º, "which has made it possible to create a new access road for emergency vehicles to the upper part of the sports complex from the adjoining pine forest".

In addition, the action has given the track "lateral sunlight that favors its use at any time of the day" and has led to the construction of another basketball court attached to the sports center.

The project also contemplated the renovation of the lighting columns "to implement the 'led' system, improve lighting and obtain energy and economic savings".

The councillor recalled that this sports court "was the only one that was pending improvement in the Sports City, in which constant investments have been made in the last seven years to update practically all the sports infrastructures."
