20 countries will be represented in 33 stands and the exemplary citizen will be paid tribute
Benidorm celebrates this Saturday, October 15th, the fourth edition of Day of Nationalities' in the auditorium 'Oscar Esplá', at L'Aigüera Park under the slogan 'We are Benidorm'. It is an initiative of the Neighborhood Council which has the full support of the department of Citizen Participation. This morning, the councillor for Citizen Participation, María Jesús Pinto, has presented the program of events accompanied by Fernando Montes, Cristian Corriani, Carlos Castelluccio, Paca Fuster and members of the Neighborhood Council. Pinto recalled that in the city live "more than 113" countries and on Saturday "will be more than 20" participating in a "playful and coexistence day". One day "worth living" because "what most exalts Benidorm is the large number of nationalities that coexist in our city." The responsible for Citizen Participation explained that throughout this day of living, you can enjoy culture, folklore, crafts, customs and, "especially the cuisine" of different nationalities who live in Benidorm and thanked the efforts made by the local Neighborhood Council in organizing the event. In the 'Day of nationalities' they will be represented 20 countries, spread over 33 stands. The exhibition will open at 16.00 and 19.00 will take place the official ceremony in which will perform a tribute to a citizen born beyond our borders whose name will not be not revealed until the same day, who is considered an example of integration and involvement with the city. The celebration will continue with a musical and folkloric show with participation of groups of the represented nationalities. The event will involve groups from Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, UK, Morocco, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela. The City Council has extended invitation to the consuls of all these countries.
