The renovation works on Calle del Mar begin

Comienzan las obras de renovación de la calle del Mar

After 20 days of previous work, work has begun on Calle del Mar that will involve the complete renovation of the road and the improvement of the hydraulic network in Benidorm. The works are valued at 355,000 euros and have the corresponding item in the 2020 Municipal Budget.

The Councilor for Works and Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate has indicated that it is "a fundamental work" that will allow "to expand the stormwater network of Benidorm." The current channels are more than 30 years old "that is why - he stressed - all services will be incorporated".

Heavy machines are going to start working on the pipes and there is movement of operators and municipal technicians. The City Council has held meetings with neighbors and merchants to inform them of the start, and also of the results of the action. The councilor "regrets" that due to operational needs "some entrances are going to be cut" although he has been confident that, after the work, "it will improve, and much, the sanitation and pumping of rainwater", which will allow "Vent the flow that reaches Orts Llorca."

In addition to the waste network and the new collector, the action includes the realization of registration wells, household sanitation connections and a new drinking water supply network that will be extended to the Via Emilio Ortuño.

From the perspective of the urban scene, the intervention contemplates “the change of all the luminaries that will become led”, the implementation of the Wi-Fi wireless network service and the transformation of the street “into a single platform” which will turn it "100% accessible to be at the same level as the sidewalk that the sidewalk" and this, in turn "with protections" that guarantee pedestrian safety.
