The Councilor for Public Security closes the first national meeting 'Police Drones 2018', with 120 registered and 21 technology companies and equipment
Policemen from all over Spain share their experience in drones and the regulatory challenges in Benidorm
Municipal and Local Police throughout Spain have shared in Benidorm their experience in joining their ordinary service of unmanned aircraft on the second and last day of the first national meeting 'police drones 2018' held in the Hall of City Hall and has The Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, was closed.
Martinez has reaffirmed "the commitment" of the City of Benidorm with the use of drones in security matters, "acquiring new products and training our agents" to "ensure that the levels of security perceived by residents and visitors -key in the election of Benidorm as a tourist destination - may increase ". Likewise, the objective has been "the creation of the Air Unit of the Local Police".
The mayor thanked the MUAS director of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), Israel Quintanilla, his "collaboration, advice, involvement and commitment" in the organization of this congress and especially in the development and drafting of the municipal regulation of piloted aircraft by remote control to be approved in the near future.
During his speech, the mayor has announced that Benidorm will repeat the experience of this congress, and thanked the speakers, companies, assistants - agents and members of the Security Forces and Armed Forces - and organizers: Head of the Local Police of Benidorm, Sociocultural Association of this body and UPV.
During two days, this meeting has addressed the possibilities that this technology offers to the Corps and Armed Forces and Forces in matters of prevention, detection and security control, as well as the challenges they face in the field of regulation and threats that the unlawful use of these unmanned aircraft poses for the safety and freedom of the citizens.
In addition, the Local and Municipal Police of Madrid, Plasencia (Cáceres), Arrecife (Las Palmas), Valencia, Finestrat, Nules, Algemesí, Xàtiva, Vall d'Uixó and Picassent have exposed the police use and application of drones in each of these locations.
This national meeting has counted on more than 120 writings, 29 speakers and 21 leading companies in technology and police equipment that have occupied the exhibition area arranged in the Plaza de SSMM Reyes de España.
