Benidorm participa en la Marcha comarcal contra la violencia de género del próximo domingo

Benidorm will be present at the 'Regional March Against Gender Violence' which is celebrated this Sunday, November 25, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. A march that on this occasion will take place in l'Alfàs del Pi and is driven by the councils of Equality and Women of the municipalities of Marina Baixa. The march will leave at ten in the morning from the esplanade of the House of Culture of the Alfasina locality.

The Equal District Council of the Baixa Marina, which includes the municipalities of Benidorm, Finestrat, La Nucía, La Vila Joiosa, Altea, Callosa d'en Sarrià, Polop de la Marina and l'Alfàs del Pi, and the Asociación Mujeres con Voz promotes the realization of this march, which aims to raise society's awareness of the need to take measures to eradicate this social drama that not only affects women, direct victims of aggression, abuse and physical abuse and psychological, but also to their immediate surroundings.

In the act of presentation, celebrated this morning in the esplanade of the House of Culture of l'Alfàs del Pi, the Councilors of Equality and Women of Benidorm, Paquita Ripoll; l'Alfàs, Genoveva Tent; La Nucía, Gema Márquez; Finestrat, Amelia Mayor; Altea, Vicenta Pérez, and Polop, Mari France Berenguer. The act was also attended by Eva Pérez, a worker in the area of ​​Equality of the City Council of Callosa d'en Sarrià, Mª Carmen Díaz, a technician at the City Council of Benidorm, and Begoña Cortés, an Equality Officer at the City Council of Altea.

It is predicted that next Sunday, at 10:00 am, more than 400 women from all the Marina Baixa will concentrate in the esplanade of the House of Culture of l'Alfàs to start the second 'Regional March against the Violence of Gender'.

Before starting the march, a manifesto will be read against gender violence and a minute of silence will be observed for women who died as a result of sexist violence, with the musical intervention of singer-songwriter Paco Merchero. Then the march will begin, which will run through the streets Armies Spaniards, Federico Garcia Lorca and Schools to return later to the esplanade of the House of Culture, where the play What a beautiful girl !, Medusa Teatre.

From the Local Equality Council of the Marina Baixa, an appeal is made to the population of the whole region to come next Sunday to the Alfàs del Pi and participate in this march, with which they want to claim the involvement of all society to end this barbarism.

The commemorative acts of the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, also include the premiere of the short film ¿Me amas ?, by Ely C. Llobregat, an event that will take place on Saturday, the 24th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Platja Albir Social Center.

Do you love me ?, short that combines the genre of thriller and drama, portrays the story of Ana, a young woman who sees how her reality changes after meeting Luis. The spectator becomes a witness and lives in the first person the evolution of a toxic relationship suffered by many women, which must be restrained with the involvement of the whole society.

A short film that talks about struggle and overcoming and that tells the story of women who see how their lives and relationships change when love is transformed into possession, control and violence.

The Equal District Council of Marina Baixa and the Association Women with Voice have supported from the beginning the recording of this short film, created by Ely C. Llobregat and produced by La Mar Salá, a young producer based in Benidorm dedicated to communication and production of audiovisual content.
