Paloma San Basilio arrives in Benidorm on May 17th with the show ‘Dulcinea’
Benidorm City Council's Department of Culture and Mascarat Producciones company announced the arrival of the musical and theatrical show ‘Dulcinea’, starring actress and singer Paloma San Basilio. The performance will take place on May 17th at 8:00 PM in the auditorium of the Cultural Centre, as revealed today during the event's presentation.
The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, stated that it “will be one of the highlights” of the Department's events this year.
“We always try to bring something new from the Department, and we are achieving this with performances like this one,” he affirmed. Tickets are now on sale for the single price of 35 euros and can be purchased online through Vivaticket and in person at the Department of Culture offices in Benidorm City Hall.
This marks Paloma San Basilio's first appearance at the Cultural Centre, as explained by Miguel Ángel Fernández of Mascarat Producciones. He detailed that "Dulcinea" is "a show created specifically for her, which premiered in November and is proving very popular, filling every theatre it plays." Fernández clarified that the production is "musical theatre" where the audience will discover "a superb actress who is receiving very positive reviews."
"Dulcinea is a woman who was always silenced by Don Quixote, even though he praised her highly. In this performance, we will have the opportunity to hear her thoughts," Fernández explained. The play is directed by Julio Awad, "one of the best musical theatre directors in the country," who also appears as an actor in this production.
Manuel Troncoso, also from Mascarat Producciones, revealed that the play incorporates texts by Victor Hugo and presents a Dulcinea who is assertive, making it interesting to see how the character develops.” The show is suitable for all audiences.
