The historic center energizes summer nights with an offer aimed at all audiences
Painting and crafts in 'Les nits del Castell' in Benidorm
As of tomorrow, Saturday, the Castelar and Senyoria squares will host, for another year, a new edition of 'Les nits del Castell', an activity organized by the Department of Commerce that aims, as the person in charge of this municipal area has pointed out, José Javier Jordá, "invigorate the historic enclave of the Castell during summer nights".
'Les nits del Castell' will bring together “painters, caricaturists and artisans from July 1 to September 15”, in the afternoons from 7:30 p.m. and until 12:30 a.m., in “a mandatory summer event aimed at all audiences” that “fills with light and colour, if possible, the most emblematic point of the city”.
There will be "three portrait artists, six caricaturists and a landscape painter" who will be located in the Plaza de Castelar, to which must be added a silhouette artist who "with only paper and scissors is able to cut out the profile of people".
On the other hand, in Plaça de la Senyoria there will be 15 artisan stalls “all of them qualified and with professional licences”. There, residents and tourists will be able to purchase "jewelry items in sterling silver and precious stones, costume jewelry, cold porcelain ornaments, pendants, handmade soaps, beads or handmade toys and much more."
As a "complement to the offer", José Javier Jordá has announced that Asmibe (Association of People with Disabilities of Benidorm and Region), will place a position where creations made by its members such as fans, bookbinding or leather goods can be purchased.
Finally, the Department of Commerce, together with the artisans of 'Les nits del Castell', has organized a series of workshops open to the public in which the artists will develop their specialty before interested persons. The activity will begin at 8:00 p.m.
