Culture recalls that the period to present works to the XXII 'Villa de Benidorm' Festive Music Contest is still open
The Department of Culture of Benidorm City Council has encouraged today the composers of festive music to present their works for the XXII 'Villa de Benidorm' Festival Music Competition, whose admission period ends on July 31 at 11:59 p.m. For this edition, the modality chosen has been the pasodoble.
The Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, stressed that the contest "is one of the longest-lived in the Valencian Community and also one of the most anticipated by composers, who see in it an incentive to devote themselves to the creation of new works".
The compositions must be original and unpublished and must not have been performed before the jury's decision. Each participant may present the number of works that he wishes.
The contest rules establish a single prize of 2,000 euros and a trophy. Participants must send four copies of the score and in an envelope the motto of the work as well as the author's information. During fifteen calendar days, the jury will evaluate the works received and communicate the motto of the winning pasodoble, which will be interpreted in the extraordinary concert that will take place in September.
