Minute of silence in Benidorm in solidarity with the victims of gender violence
Benidorm has observed this morning a minute of silence in memory of the woman killed on March 30 in the Almeria town of Albox. With the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the councilor of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, in the lead, members of different political groups, public workers and neighbors, have shown their firmest rejection of this social scourge of sexist violence.
On this occasion, the victim was a woman of 48 years, and the alleged murderer, his partner of 38, of Lithuanian nationality. The man was acquitted in 2016 after being reported for mistreatment by the woman. With this are already 7 victims of gender violence in Spain so far this year, after confirming the case of the woman murdered in Santa Cruz de Retamar (Toledo), last March 24.
