Benidorm attends the preview of the new RTVE series starring Paz Vega and filmed in the city

A delegation from Benidorm headed by the mayor, Toni Pérez, attended last night the preview of the first episode of the new fictional series of Radio Televisión Española (RTVE), 'Fugitiva', starring the actress Paz Vega and which has been filmed in its most part in the city.

In this 'premier', which was held at the Callao Cinema in Madrid, the mayor was accompanied by the manager of the Visit Benidorm Foundation; Leire Bilbao; from the responsible of the Film Office, Rosa Llorca; the president and the general secretary of the employers' association Hosbec, Toni Mayor and Núria Montes; and by Carola Valls, Visit Benidorm technician. On the red carpet of the Callao Cinema paraded the artistic cast of the series, composed, among others, by Paz Vega, Roberto Álamo, Mercedes Sampietro, Charo López, José Manuel Poga, Iván Pellicer, Lander Otaola, Raúl Mérida, Melina Matthews, Pedro Mari Sánchez and the Mexicans Julio Bracho, Arantza Ruiz, Luisa Rubino, and Odysseus Bichir.

He also attended the 'premier' Ana Guerra, who puts the voice at the head of the series. As indicated yesterday by RTVE in an official statement, 'Fugitive' has been recorded in natural locations of Madrid and Benidorm, destination chosen for its visual richness, which makes "this city is almost a character of fiction, for its luminous presence and its multicultural character ".

More than a thousand extras, residents of Benidorm and surrounding areas, have participated in the series. Although the first chapter does not yet leave the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca, it is very present in the vertiginous headway that flashes through the city. During the preview, screenwriter Joaquín Oristrell thanked Benidorm for its involvement in the filming, which began in early February; A thank you that seconded with a big ovation.

Starting  April 5, 'Fugitiva', produced by RTVE and Grupo Ganga, will be broadcasting on prime time at 2240 hours every Thursday.

'Fugitive' plot

This ten-episode thriller between Mexico and Spain focuses on Magda, a woman who is forced to make a drastic decision when her world breaks into pieces and she longs to regain control of her life. Directed by Sergio Cabrera, Belén Macías and Antonio Cuadri, the series recreates 90 crucial hours for Magda and her immediate surroundings. The large proportion of exteriors make 'Fugitive' a luminous fiction and transgressive spirit with the genre.
