Minute of silence in Benidorm to condemn the second deadly victim of the year as a result of sexist violence
Benidorm has saved a new minute of silence today, at the gates of the City Council, to condemn a new case of sexist violence, the second with a fatality this year 2019. The mayor of Equality, Paquita Ripoll, has led this concentration of rejection of gender violence, accompanied by several councilors of the corporation and municipal workers.
On this occasion, the victim was a 47-year-old Spanish woman, who was allegedly murdered by her ex-wife, 50 years of age and of German nationality, who stabbed her in the presence of her minor child. The events happened yesterday in the Malaga town of Fuengirola.
The Department of Equality reminds women who may be facing a case of abuse, who can go to the municipal services or use the toll-free number 016 against gender violence. The call is not reflected in the telephone bill, but it is advisable to delete it from the list of calls from mobile phones.
