The Local Police intercepts a truck selling drinks that intended to sell them on the beach
The Local Police intercepted last Tuesday a truck selling drinks, whose owners intended to act on the Poniente beach in Benidorm. The performance took place early in the afternoon in the vicinity of Elche Park, where the vehicle was parked.
As explained by the Local Police, the surveillance work carried out from the sand and the promenade and from a nearby rooftop made it possible to verify that the vehicle detected by the agents was used for the storage and preparation of drinks that were later introduced on the beach to its irregular sale. As a result of this surveillance, the 'operating method of the three people involved was also verified, all of them were members of the same family and acted as an organized group.
Thus, after preparing the drinks in the refrigerated area of the vehicle and taking advantage of the momentary police absence at that specific point on the beach, two of the individuals raced to the beach to sell the 'mojitos'. As the agents verified, they even had a POS banking device to collect these drinks.
After gathering those involved next to the vehicle, the Local Police proceeded to immobilize the truck and seize the drinks and other products found inside. In addition, administrative complaints have been made for non-sedentary sales without authorization.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Jesús Carrobles, has highlighted that "this action is the result of the daily control and surveillance of activities not allowed on the beaches of Benidorm carried out by the Local Police"; and recalled that "from the City Council we have launched an information campaign with tips to enjoy 'Your best holidays in Benidorm', which has included a warning about dangers involved in buying drinks without sanitary control".
