Historical Heritage will mark the site of El Tossal and the machine gun nests of El Torrejó and El Rincón
The technicians have removed the sand that covered El Torrejó to document it graphically and have verified that it has not been affected by the works of accessibility to the beach. Pellicer asks the PSOE to retract for ensuring that much of the remains of this nest had been destroyed
The councilor for Historic Heritage, Ana Pellicer, has reported that the remains of the defensive war constructions of the Civil War located on the beach of Levante at the height of El Torrejó and at the end of the Rincón de Loix will be marked, while it will be improved El Tossal in La Cala. About the latter, she advanced that a panel will be placed that will contain a recreation of the deposit in 3D, as well as a sign of how to reach the 'castellum' from Poniente beach. Pellicer indicated that as agreed in the August plenary session, it will also signal the Civil War machine gun nests located on the first line of the Rincón de Loix and on the sand of El Torrejó. In this last point a panel will be placed with photographs of the remains of the machine gun nest, "which will explain that at certain times of the year and depending on the currents these vestiges can be visible or remain hidden under the sand, as has happened these days ". The councilwoman has informed that this morning municipal workers and technicians of Historical Heritage have proceeded to remove the sand to "uncover and clean these remains". Some tasks that have served to better document graphically the remains, and also to "demonstrate that PSOE spokesman Rubén Martínez lied yesterday when he said in a press release that much of the remains of this bunker or nest had been destroyed for the accessibility works that have been carried out on the access ramp to the Levante beach from El Torrejó ". Pellicer recalled that these works of accessibility have been made with the permission of Costas, with the supervision of municipal technicians and following the alignment of the old ramp, which had been closed for years because of its poor condition. "From Historic Heritage we knew that this work was going to be carried out and that it would not affect the machine gun nest," as the mayor, Toni Pérez, was able to verify this morning; and representatives of various groups of the corporation that have approached El Torrejó. An information that the spokesman of the PSOE "would have had if he had asked before creating alarm and to circulate a hoax by the social networks". The head of Historic Heritage has asked the PSOE spokesman "to publicly retracted" for his false accusations about the destruction of the bunker and "to be fair and honest with the city" because "rectify is wise."
