Green Urban Data and CicloGreen are the two finalist projects of Dinapsis Open Challenge and will be applied in Benidorm
Dinapsis Benidorm has celebrated its fourth anniversary in Benidorm this morning with the final act of Dinapsis Open Challenge, an initiative of Dinapsis and Hidraqua as an international innovation program for a more sustainable tourism model to which 91 solutions have been presented by 57 startups from Italy. France, Finland and Spain.
A jury made up of representatives from HOSBEC, Invat.tur, Distrito Digital Comunitat Valenciana, Grupo Suez, Visit Benidorm and the City Councils of Benidorm and Finestrat has chosen this morning, among the five finalists, the two solutions that have deserved the first and second award and that have corresponded to the Green Urban Data and Green Cycle applications, awards that have been announced by the mayors of Benidorm and Finestrat, Toni Pérez and Juan Francisco Pérez, locations where they will be applied.
Toni Pérez highlighted that with Dinapsis Open Challenge “we are taking a further step in the open innovation program to attract and value talent and motivation”, congratulating Suez group for the initiative and on celebrating 4 years in Benidorm the Dinapsis Operation & Lab.
In view of the applicability of the solutions proposed by finalists and winners, the mayor of Benidorm pointed out that "tomorrow is already here", highlighting the usefulness of the applications, since - he said - "because they make our lives easier". Pérez indicated that "everything we do in Benidorm is scalable and replicable to be better."
Green Urban Data is environmental intelligence for healthy and resilient cities through software that favors decision-making through environmental indicators recommending the healthiest routes to move around the city, making it a more comfortable place through parameters with the air quality, environmental temperature, shade and the physical parameters that surround it, improving mobility strategies.
Toni Pérez pointed out that "environmental sustainability is key, along with social and economic sustainability" and that "with these technological aids we improve the city and favor residents and tourists."
The mayor of Finestrat, Juan Francisco Pérez, indicated that "by being next to Benidorm we take advantage of its energy and complete the special characteristics it has, highlighting that the CicloGreen application" will motivate us to be more sustainable ", even posing challenges and promoting healthy habits .
The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, attended the event adding to the congratulations to the Suez Group and the finalists, highlighting that the importance of talent and its applicability, noting that with these initiatives from Dinapsis, “Benidorm is capable of becoming a laboratory for ideas and social laboratory to reinvent itself on a daily basis ”. He praised the development of technological solutions at the service of an important cause such as "contributing to improve the tourist destination that is Benidorm", noting that "tourists will choose more sustainable, efficient and safe destinations."
After the event, the mayors and the Secretary of Tourism learned in detail some of the most significant actions of the Suez Group and Hidraqua from the Dinapsis Operation & Lab in Benidorm through the explanations of the Suez Group's Head of Innovation, Antonio Sánchez, and the director of operations of Hidraqua, María José Toledo.

The mayor of Benidorm recalled and thanked, once again, Hidraqua's initiative to keep operational, since the beginning of the pandemic, the most strategic and critical facility in the city, which corresponds to the drinking water distribution system, confining itself the technicians for it.
