The Green Circuit of El Moralet starts...

The Technical Services begin the foundation of the future Interpretation Center of the Sèquia Mare-Murtal Green Ring

As announced at the end of 2020, within the initiatives of the Sustainable and Comprehensive Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI Benidorm) and Benidorm DTI + Seguro Roadmap, the actions of Sèquia Mare-Murtal Green Ring have begun with the start of El Moralet Green Circuit.

The Councilor for Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, confirmed this morning that the trail and mountain bike circuit that, in collaboration with the Sports Department, designed by Benidorm Athletics Club and the Mountain Section (BTT) of Club Ciclista Benidorm has already been supervised by the municipal technicians and has its route from Guillermo Amor Sports City, next to the athletics tracks, through El Moratel forest, crossing 42 paths and having 8 accesses from Beniardá, Vía Parque and La Cala.

In the Sports City, the councilor said, "by the municipal technical services, they are proceeding at the moment to prepare the floor for a 110-square-meter hiking and bike Interpretation Center" contemplated in the project and that "in two months it will go out to tender, with all the work ”.

De Zárate pointed out that the action includes "salt lamps, signage and sustainable litter bins and hydrants for actions against the risk of fires." The development of Technical Services also includes, highlighted the councilor, "the adaptation and arrangement of roads and terraces with natural stone." In this same action, it is contemplated "repopulating with native and local trees."

This initiative, as noted in the meetings of the 'On the street' campaign of the Department of Citizen Participation, together with the Neighborhood Council, the El Moral Green Circuit, of the Sèquia Mare-Murtal Green Belt, is made up of routes that they can be done on foot or by bicycle. Counting on three levels of difficulty indicated in each route depending on the difficulty; low, medium and skill.

These outlines of the outer ring road for sports were tested by technicians of the Department of Sports and its owner, Mariló Cebreros, highlighted the advantage of connecting Colonia Madrid and La Cala through a natural setting in just over half an hour walking or in less time through sports practice.

The Green Ring in which El Moralet circuit is integrated will have trails for mountain runners and all-terrain bicycles crossing the entire municipality of Benidorm from La Cala to Serra Gelada to enjoy nature and nature sports through designed routes that can be downloaded and followed through GPS devices, said the head of Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, noting that the project also contemplates that emergency vehicles can also circulate on the new routes.
