'Gent de Benidorm' compiles the 100 interviews that Vicente Fuster made in the municipal radio
The book reflects the "pulse" of the city since the middle of the last century told in Onda Benidorm through the memories and the experiences of its protagonists
"After more than 40 years dedicated to sports information on radio and television press, one day I decided to do a program in Onda Benidorm, the municipal radio station, titled 'Gent de Benidorm'". Vicente Fuster begins the dedication of his book, which he presented today in a crowded hall of Benidorm City Council accompanied by the mayor of the city, Toni Pérez; the councillor of Culture and Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer; and the book prologue, Pere Rostoll.
The book is a faithful reflection of that program, in which characters of every type, age and condition, but born or who have lived a very important part of their life in our city, tell their experiences, anecdotes and memories.
Vicente Fuster has wanted to dedicate the book especially "to my family, my friends and especially to María Martínez Pérez, Juan Rodríguez Serrano, Pedro Rostoll Agulló, Jaime Pérez Pérez, Pere María Orts i Bosch, Tomás Cortés Lloret, Miguel Pérez Devesa and Josefina Orts i Bosch, protagonists of Gent of Benidorm and that unfortunately they already left us ".
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, thanked Vicente Fuster for having made "a great work" based on interviews made on the municipal radio station "that have become a priceless material in the voice of people from Benidorm, men and women, "he said," who have left us their testimony in a written book edited by Vicente Jorge Sanjuan, an editor who shows that paper is still invaluable in accessing knowledge and small stories that together, as this book, allow us to write the great story of that great town that is Benidorm.
