Mobility reorders the traffic in the area, after completing the asphalting of the upper part
The final section of Los Almendros Avenue is closed to traffic for five days for the installation of reinforced concrete
The final section of Los Almendros Avenue is closed to traffic next week for five days to proceed with its asphalting with reinforced concrete, thus following the aesthetics of the Elche Park environment. The councillor of Public Space and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, recalled that “as we already reported last July, this final section of Avenida de Los Almendros will be regulated with access control, thus limiting the passage of vehicles towards the first line of Poniente that is already pedestrian ”. Hence, "to unify and make visible the pedestrian priority of this area, which will be configured as a road with no sidewalks and where the speed is reduced to 10 kilometers per hour, we are going to use the same material as in the already pedestrianized area."
De Zárate has indicated that "this material has a longer drying time than conventional asphalt" and that is why "five days are necessary for the development of the works, as long as the weather conditions are favorable."
The councillor has indicated that "these works will begin on Monday, the 14th, once we have already completed the asphalting of Los Almendros stretch between Limones and Mercado streets, which today is reopening to traffic." The final stretch of the avenue will be closed until Friday the 18th. De Zárate has apologized for the inconvenience that this action may cause.
While this traffic cut lasts, the Department of Mobility has reordered traffic. For this, the traffic of Costera del Campo street will be reversed from the intersection with Mercado street to allow the exit of vehicles to Alcalde José Such Avenue.
