Benidorm approves 2 new remittances of aid to companies and freelancers

Benidorm City Council has approved two new remittances of municipal aid to companies, businesses, SMEs and freelancers to face the effects of Covid-19. Specifically, "there are already 15 remittances processed, with an amount of grants that is close to 600,000 euros and that have been injected directly into the local productive fabric", as reported today by the Councilor for Employment and Local Promotion, Mónica Gómez.

The mayor has indicated that "since the process was opened, more than 850 files have been processed, and has been granted to more than 650 companies and professionals who complied with the conditions of the call. Likewise, "to date the first 13 remittances have been fully paid, with aid ranging between 500 and 1,000 euros per beneficiary depending on the condition that the decree of state of alarm caused on the activity."

Specifically, those who were affected by the closure of establishments receive an aid of 1,000 euros; 750 euros, who saw their billing reduced by at least 40% between March 14 and April 19 compared to the average of the previous six months or the period of high activity; and 500 euros, applicants who have been beneficiaries of municipal aid to families.

Remittances 14 and 15 will be paid in the next few days to the beneficiaries.

Gómez pointed out that "with these aid the City Council has contributed to mitigate the situation that companies and professionals in the city are experiencing as a result of the health crisis", and added that "these aid are one of the different measures adopted by the local government to inject resources into the productive fabric of Benidorm and thus minimize the effects of Covid-19 on economic activity and employment ”.

At this point, she recalled that the City Council launched a line of aid aimed specifically at local commerce financed through a 196,960 euro subsidy granted by the Alicante Provincial Council and that it has reached around 200 commercial establishments.

In addition, the grants called for the taxi sector are already in the resolution phase; while the deadline for requesting direct aid to establishments that had to close due to the declaration of the state of alarm or other subsequent regulations remains open.
