Charity tennis exhibition in favor of Cáritas
IQL Tennis Academy is organizing a tennis exhibition on December 19 and 20 that will have a solidarity component, since on the occasion of this exhibition food will be collected for the local Caritas groups. The Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca, and the organizer of the exhibition, Lisandro Caravaca, reported today about this initiative that will take place at the club's facilities, at La Barrina.
People who wish to participate in this solidarity initiative and enjoy the tennis exhibition will receive a free entry in exchange for contributing a kilo of food. These tickets can be redeemed through the Eventbrite platform: https://www.eventbrite.es/e/entradas-iql-tennis-exhibition-130684094645. In addition, a Row 0 will be set up so that anyone can make their contribution, and Caritas volunteers will be in charge of collecting the food at the club's facilities.
The councillor of Social Welfare thanked the club for “having thought of the neediest families, channeling this help through Cáritas, an entity that always carries out a very important social work and whose volunteers, as well as those of the other organizations that collaborate the delivery of food, they are redoubling their efforts in these times of pandemic to serve the people who need it, thus complementing the services provided by the Department ”.
From IQL, its manager, Fernando Ortega, has indicated that “a charity tennis tournament is one of the best actions that the club can develop to support the most vulnerable families and contribute to society, especially in this difficult time ”. For his part, the organizer explained that "the idea came from the Academy given the need for competitive games in the preseason of the players and the great opportunity for people to enjoy good tennis." Caravaca thanked "all the players and their teams for their willingness and social commitment."
The tournament format will be 10 matches, singles and doubles, in which two men's teams of four players each will compete. Among the confirmed tennis players are: David Pérez Sanz, Kevin Edengren, Salva Mulet, Carlos Sánchez Jover, Dani Morozov, Carlos Giménez Pérez and Jordi Egea.
During the exhibition, capacity and compliance with interpersonal distance will be controlled.
