The exhibition will go from “being temporary to permanent” thanks to technology and 360º images

A technology that facilitates “access to art for people with reduced mobility”

Historical Heritage has presented today the virtual tour of the exhibition 'Plural Feminine', a new immersive bet that brings "thanks to the Internet the cultural offer of the city to the whole world", said the councillor of the department, Ana Pellicer.

The exhibition 'Femenino Plural' is a collective show by Alicante creators Lucía Morate, Carolina Diego, Ana Pomares, Helena Davó and Ana Ruiz de Apocada, curated by Alicia Lamarca, which can be visited until April 3 at Boca del Calvari . Five women who show us, through art, the world that surrounds us through the photographic lens, painting or video” and that now it is also possible to enjoy it virtually.

Pellicer recalled that during the pandemic, the world's great museums such as the MoMa in New York, the Louvre in Paris, or the Prado Museum, for example, relied on virtual tours and technology, which it has evolved and brought its use closer to the public, “that is why Benidorm opted for it in September with the virtual exhibition of 'El Turista Accidental' and now with 'Femenino Plural'.

The virtual tour of 'Femenino Plural' has been made from 16 images in 360 degrees. A walk through the three floors of the museum that reveals “in detail” the 38 works on display and the two video art creations”. The visit is complemented by the biographies of the five artists, references to each of the sections and extra multimedia material.

"For users, it is very easy - Pellicer has underlined - they just have to access the link from a mobile device, with a tablet, with a computer, from home" and follow the instructions. People will find access buttons to the different entrances that will guide them throughout the tour, even with virtual reality glasses "in a very real way", so that visitors can see the last detail.

Benidorm will continue betting on virtual technology. Boca del Calvari exhibitions will continue to be accessible, although they are no longer physically present. “They go from being temporary to being permanent”, Ana Pellicer has emphasized. In addition, virtual technology "facilitates access to art for people with reduced mobility" which strengthens "the inclusive and integrating actions carried out by Benidorm City Council aimed at them".

For this reason, Pellicer has reiterated, Benidorm City Council will continue to delve into this task and is studying the digitization of other "actions that the City Council is carrying out" with the aim of making them accessible and "making them known through this technology" to everyone.
