The EDUSI support platform installs information points in Benidorm

28 October 2017
La plataforma de apoyo a la EDUSI despliega puntos de información en Benidorm

The Civic Platform for Support to the EDUSI Project (Sustainable Urban Development Strategy) in Benidorm, has carried out local calls in four information points and survey collection. This activity is part of the 'Edusiónate' citizen promotion campaign, promoted by the Neighborhood Council with the support of the Department of Citizen Participation.

In the neighborhood of Els Tolls there has been a sectoral workshop on equality in which Margarita Luján, president of the collective Women with Voice of the Marina Baixa has taken part. He has also participated the lawyer of the Department of Equality, Ana Lloret, and the representative of the company that carries out the EDUSI project for the City Council (Guide Consulting), Daniel Altamirano. The activity, coordinated by the Association of Neighbors of Els Tolls, has assisted fifty people, including representatives of the Association of Handicapped People of Benidorm (ASMIBE) and the group of laywomen, Las Kellys.

On the other hand, in the square of Neptuno has been installed at 11.00 a tent where the members of the platform and the councilor of Citizen Participation, Maria Jesus Pinto, have informed the neighborhood of the advantages of the EDUSI project and have requested the participation of the whole neighborhood collective. The mayor and his team moved later, around 13.30, to a second information point next to the Auditorium Julio Iglesias of the Park of l'Aigüera. The tent has reopened tonight coinciding with the activities organized in the auditorium by the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge'.

Lastly, representatives of the platform, taking advantage of the fact that the Colombian 'mobile consulate' of Colombia has moved to the Plaza de Her Majesties the Kings of Spain today, have distributed to the nationals of this country residents in the city detailed information of the EDUSI and the opinion forms that will be used for the final drafting of the project.

With its EDUSI, Benidorm chooses to obtain around 10 million euros from the European Social Fund, which would be a great step forward for the development of the city of the future: more livable, more sustainable, more inclusive and more participatory.
