A concert of trombone and piano puts the finishing touch to the cycle 'Grandes Recitales 2017'
José Ángel Isla from Benidorm and José Mª Villegas close a cycle that already thinks about its third edition
The second edition of 'Grandes Recitales', a cycle that over four weeks has brought together renowned international performers in Benidorm, has been closed this Friday with a concert by the soloist of Benidorm Trombone José Ángel Isla and the pianist José Mª Villegas. As in previous sessions, the City Council Hall has been completed for the closing recital of the cycle, organized by the Department of Culture in collaboration with the Municipal Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló' and the Provincial Council of Alicante .
In perfect communion, Isla and Villegas have performed a repertoire with works by contemporary authors such as Walter Hartley, Ernst Sachse, Cristóbal Halffter, Jean-Michel Damase, Daniel Schnyder; and in which he has also heard pieces signed by Enrique Granados and Johannes Brahms.
Master in bass trombone, double bass and chamber music at the National Conservatory of Music of Paris with Professor Claude Chevaillier, the Benidorm resident José Ángel Isla is a member of the ensemble 'Les Dissonances' in the French capital, from the quartet of trombones' Made in Quartet 'and duet' Numskull duo '.
Villegas, for his part, was trained in 'The Juilliard School' in New York and the Hochschule fur Musik, Teather und Medien in Hannover. Winner of numerous national and international awards has offered solo recitals in Europe and America, combining his concert activity with the teaching work in the Professional Conservatory of Music 'Garcia Matos' Plasencia.
The councilor of Culture thanked "their participation to all soloists who have gone through the cycle" and "fidelity to the public that week after week has filled the Hall of Acts in each of the recitals." Two circumstances, he assured, that "we are encouraged to prepare from now, with great desire and enthusiasm, the third edition" of these 'Great Recitals'.
