La Creu, Castell and Tossal lighted up in pink to support women who suffer and fight against cancer
Dr. Pilar Barreto lends her voice to those affected by breast cancer on the International Disease Day
The clinical psychologist, doctor and professor Pilar Barreto has been in charge of reading the manifesto for the World Breast Cancer Day, thus lending her voice to those affected by this disease. The reading of the manifesto, which is part of the Solidarity Week for those affected by Breast Cancer organized by Anémona, took place in the Multipurpose Room of El Torrejó municipal center and was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí; members of the Corporation; the president of Anémona, María Botella; and members of the association.
Coinciding with this anniversary, the Creu, the Castell and the Tossal in La Cala have been lit up this afternoon-night in pink as a sign of support for all women who suffer and fight against this disease. As the councillor of Equality pointed out this morning, “lighting up three iconic places in Benidorm in pink is one more gesture to give visibility to this day and raise awareness of the importance of the early detection of this cancer, the most frequent among women according to the World Health Organization, the promoter of this commemoration ”.
Yesterday the traditional march for those affected by Breast Cancer took place which, due to the special circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, has had a virtuous character this year.
