'Destello de jazmín', from Gastrobar Urban Beach, wins the first prize in the II Benidorm Cocktail Competition

‘Destello de jazmín’, del Gastrobar Urban Beach se alza con el primer premio del jurado en el II Concurso de Cocktails de Benidorm

 'Destello de Jazmín' cocktail has won the jury's first prize today in the second edition of  Benidorm Cocktail Competition, the fourth activity on Benidorm Gastronomic 2023 calendar. The drink has been made by Luis Antonio Cubillana, from Gastrobar Urban Beach and has been awarded the trophy and diploma and a travel gift box for the author, as announced today at the contest awards ceremony, held in El Torrejó building.

The rest of the awards were as follows: The Special Public Mention for the most popular cocktail went to Planta 20 by Belvedere, with the 'Benisunset' cocktail, made by Nicolás Mariano Radu. The public's special mention diploma for the best cocktail of 2023 went to Pinocchio Playa with 'Black Turian', by José Enrique Grau. The jury's special mention diploma for the best non-alcoholic cocktail went to Malaspina establishment for 'L'Hort-Xata' made by Samuel Gil Toro.

At the event, a raffle was also held for a voucher of six vouchers to be exchanged for a cocktail from those presented in the competition at the participating establishments, which were a total of eleven.

Before the awards ceremony, Abreca representative, Alex Frattini, highlighted the “great satisfaction” among clients and consumers, as well as “the enormous success of this initiative, which has already been consolidated.” Frattini also thanked the participants, the jury, and the sponsor for their “involvement” in this competition.

The award ceremony was closed by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, who highlighted the importance of “being able to collaborate with Abreca on a very necessary product such as Gastronomic Benidorm, which has five activities.” Pérez wanted to “transfer the success of this edition, an edition of emergence in terms of demand and customer satisfaction” and stressed that tourism “moves towards experience and the cocktail has revealed itself as something attractive and in demand.”

The mayor has highlighted “the new creations” in this competition and has congratulated “all those who make Gastronomic Benidorm possible.” In the opinion of the mayor, "With these actions, we are creating a brand and sending the message that in Benidorm there is activity all year round and that here people always enjoy products as creative as these cocktails."
