Benidorm informs beach users about the importance of posidonia
Benidorm City Council, through the Department of Beaches and the concessionaire company (RA Benidorm), is informing and raising awareness among sandbank users about the value of Posidonia and the importance that this algae has in the marine environment and also against erosion. To this end, a scientific talk titled 'The underwater treasure of coastal ecosystems' has been scheduled to be given today and tomorrow at different points on the beaches of Levante and Poniente by Sandra Cristina Gómez Durán, a graduate in Environmental Sciences from the University from Murcia and specialist in Waste Management and Natural Environment Management.
The first stop of this information and awareness action was at the accessible beach point of Elche Park. Around fifty people, including the Councilor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, followed explanations from the person in charge of the talk, who interacted with the attendees throughout the activity.
Subsequently, the action moved to La Cala Beach Library. The last conference will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, the 20th, at the Levante Beach Library, starting at 11:00 a.m.
