The Consortium of the Marina Baixa certifies that there is water to meet the demand of the industrial estate of Benidorm

11 April 2017
El Consorcio de la Marina Baixa certifica que hay agua para atender la demanda del polígono industrial de Benidorm

The body has unanimously supported the petition of 230,000 cubic meters per year made by the City Council

The Consortium of Waters of the Marina Baixa has unanimously supported the request of 230,000 cubic meters per year made by the City of Benidorm to meet the demand that will generate the development of the industrial estate of the city and the commercial center.

This point was discussed at the General Meeting of the entity held today in Benidorm and chaired by the mayor, Toni Pérez, by delegation of the president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, César Sánchez.

Specifically, the Consortium has responded affirmatively to a letter from the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar (CHJ) on the feasibility of new water resources, certifying that the entity has "sufficient volumes" to meet the request made by the City.

The mayor explained that "this is important news for the city because it allows to take a step further in the development and implementation of that important area that is the Partial Plan of Sector 3/1, our industrial and commercial area."

Once certified that the county has these new water resources that the polygon needs, the CHJ can already inform in favor of the viability of the punctual modification number 1 of the Partial Plan of the Industrial Sector 3/1.

Pérez has stated that "we are taking firm steps to make this modification and development of that important commercial and industrial hub of Benidorm a reality." He also stressed that the implementation of the industrial estate "is a priority issue for the government team in this legislature," adding that "at the municipal level we are meeting the deadlines that we set and we compromise by agreement to achieve it."
