The City Council will work with Conselleria and the educational community of the IES Pere Mª so that the works affect the minimum to the school activity
The DOGV today collects the pending works for 1.7 million and a period of execution of six months
The Town Council of Benidorm will work with the department of Education, through its Territorial Directorate and the educational community of the IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch so that the resumption of the pending works of expansion of the center affect the minimum possible to the school activity for next course.
This was stated in a press conference by the mayor, Toni Pérez, after the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV) has published today the tender for these works for an amount of 1,722,007.67 euros.
Pérez, who has also assumed the delegation of Education, has described as "very good news" this tender, which has ensured that "concrete and materializes the intense and loyal work that we have developed the City Council and Generalitat." In addition, the bidding comes two months after the City Council updated "in a record time" the work permit.
Due to the times and the discussions held today with the Territorial Directorate of Education, it is estimated that the contracting process of the company that must finish the works "is concluded throughout the summer", reason why the resumption of the same "goes To coincide almost certainly with the beginning of the 2017-208 course. "
The mayor explained that only about 15% of the initial project is pending, which focuses on the oldest building in the institute and general access to the center. In principle, these works are "perfectly compatible" with school activity, as was the execution of the bulk of the project, which created the large classroom already in use or the new gym. In any case, we want to coordinate the schedule of works to minimize discomfort for students and teachers.
The works of IES Pere Mª were paralyzed in 2011, when the construction company entered into a competition of creditors. The judicial and insolvency situation affecting this expansion was resolved only a few months ago.
