Benidorm City Council has started the installation of baby changing tables in public buildings. The measure responds to part of a motion presented by the opposition in the 2019 Municipal Budget and approved by the entire plenary.
The Councilor for Human Resources and Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, said that the changers "will be available to users" in the social centers Tanit, José Llorca Linares, Jelena and La Torreta; also in the offices of the Department of Social Welfare, in the reception and in the bathrooms of the cafeteria in Palau d'Esports l'Illa de Benidorm, in the adapted bathroom of the building of the UNED (National University of Distance Education), and in the Town Hall, in the services of women and men. "It is a good opportunity - Zaragozí stressed - to apply measures that allow progress in gender equality because the care of children is the responsibility of everyone, fathers and mothers."
Finally, Zaragozí has announced that the Department of Human Resources will continue to look for new locations, the intention of the City Council is "that there are changers in all municipal offices."
