The City Council improves the image and pedestrian safety in Paseo de Tamarindos
The Urban Scene and Mobility departments have acted in Paseo de Tamarindos to improve the image and pedestrian safety of this "emblematic area in front of the beach." The counciman of both areas, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated the measures adopted in the area of mobility have consisted mainly in restricting the circulation of vehicles and give greater prominence to pedestrians in this space very visited by neighbors and tourists.
Thus, a "pedestrian crossing" has been configured in parallel to the balustrade, access to the last section of the Paseo has been limited, and a dozen new parking spaces have been generated - two of them reserved for disabled people. In addition, after prolonging the bike lane, the Paseo has been signaled as a bike lane.
On the other hand, the balustrade has been repainted and arranged and banks and paper mills have been installed.
De Zárate added that these improvements were profiled "after visiting the area with the municipal technicians" in the line of "meetings held with residents of Paseo" and "claims made by the municipal group of Citizens (Cs)."
