Benidorm asks for a subsidy to soundproof 4 pumps that cause annoyance to neighbors

Funds have also been requested to start in 2018 the renovation of a stretch in Atmella del Mar

Benidorm City Council will ask the Provincial Council of Alicante for a subsidy to soundproof four pumping stations that do not comply with noise regulations and / or create discomfort to neighbors. The municipal technicians estimate that the cost of this soundproofing is around 30,000 euros, according to the proposal of the Councilor for Cycle of Water and Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, who has been ruled in the informational committee of Urbanism and has subsequently approved by the Board of Local Government.

De Zárate explained that measurements were taken at the pumping stations located in the streets Montecarlo, Sierra Dorada, Juan Fuster Zaragoza and Pérez Llorca with Valencia, and that are part of the drive network that carries all the residual waters of Benidorm to the Purification plant. In these measurements it was shown that the first two did not comply with the sound parameters. To these two, are added the stations of the streets Nicaragua and Italy, on which "for years they have received neighborhood complaints by the noise".

The councilman has detailed that the soundproofing project prepared by the technicians "will try to improve" the situation in the stations of Monte Carlo, Sierra Dorada, Nicaragua and Italy so that they "do not have noise problems"; And has announced that the City Council "is working to solve also the issue of odors, which occur in some seasons at certain times of the year."

In addition to being invited to the call for the repair of infrastructures and hydraulic installations, the City Council has also requested its inclusion in the Provincial Plan of Cooperation to the Works and Services of municipal competition for 2018 with the work of integral renovation of a section of the avenue Atmella del Mar, the one between the Mediterranean and Juan Fuster Zaragoza.

De Zárate recalled that the project drafted by the technicians extends to Zamora street, although to adapt to the call of the Provincial Council has chosen to raise this renewal in two phases. This first phase has a cost of one million euros, of which 450,000 euros would be eligible.
